Cafe Baras

As a capybara with a love for coffee, it’s always been a dream of yours to open your own shop. Now is the perfect time! But you’re not the only one opening your doors in hopes of enticing customers. Rival coffee shops are popping up all over town and it’s up to you to ensure that you have the right food, drinks, and decor to turn your drop-ins into regulars. Designed by Roberta Taylor and featuring illustrations by Cindy Monroy, Café Baras is a caffeinated adventure for 2-4 baristas.
In Café Baras, I crafted friendly and whimsical character designs inspired by the essence of a capybara. Their approachable and charming demeanor reflects the game's lighthearted competition, adding warmth and personality to every card and board element.

I also illustrated delightful food and drink items representative of Latin America's diverse culinary traditions. From arepas to empanadas and tropical beverages, each piece is infused with playful details and rustic finishes to enhance the cozy café atmosphere.
To tie the gameplay and narrative together, I created inviting spaces and rustic elements that immerse players in the charm of small-town cafés. The settings exude comfort and authenticity, drawing players into a world where every detail encourages them to savor their caffeinated adventure.

River Market
It’s Summertime in Maple Valley and the River Market is open for business! The narrow streets and waterways are bustling with vendors hawking their wares and customers in search of a good bargain. The market is growing, with new businesses opening all the time.
River Market is the new standalone game set in the cozy world of Creature Comforts, designed by Roberta Taylor and published by KTBG. As forest critters, players take turns moving around the River Market activating the buildings they visit, hiring helpful new employees, and adding their own new businesses. Gameplay is quick, and before you know it, the market will be closed for another day. Look for River Market on Kickstarter later this year.

I created illustrations for a board game, bringing to life a cast of friendly characters with warm, inviting personalities. Each design is set within rustic and cozy environments, enhancing the game's charm and creating a welcoming atmosphere for players.
